Troubleshooting on Your Own

Before you call the “Doc” for a repair of your furnace or air conditioner, check these few things*…
  1. Make sure the power is on and all fuses and circuit breakers are working.
  2. Make sure the thermostat is turned to the appropriate feature (heat, cool, off) and set in the proper temperature range for heating or cooling.
  3. If your thermostat isn’t working, check to make sure the batteries are working (if applicable).
  4. Check the filters to see if they need to be cleaned or replaced. A plugged filter will restrict air flow, causing your unit to shut down from overheating.

Tools *While we understand that there are many do-it-yourselfers out there, we strongly encourage you to have a licensed HVAC professional perform all installation and maintenance work on your heating and air conditioning equipment for the safety of you and your family.
