Oldest Furnace Contest
Joanne Bruce won "Doc" Dancer's 2010 Oldest Furnace Contest
but she has a lot more about which to be proud.
Joanne is a mother of four and grandmother of ten! She has lived in her home since 1971. She retired from General Electric after many years of service. Joanne walked to work at GE everyday from her home.
She has always been very active in the West Central Neighborhood Association. Her house still sits on a quaint little brick street thanks in part to Joanne's efforts. Joanne has two cats who keep her company. She's proud of her collection of Frisbees from all different states. She also enjoys taking walks.
Joanne is one very active 77 year old and we are very proud to announce her as our Oldest Furnace Contest Grand Prize Winner for 2010!
Congratulations Joanne!

Our 2009 Contest Winners
Willie and Cheryl Taylor were “Doc” Dancer’s 2nd annual oldest furnace contest winners with a furnace that was estimated to be 94 years old. WOW! It was an old Lennox gravity furnace converted years ago from oil to gas. The house was built in 1915, and Willie has lived in the house since he bought it in the 1970’s. His wife Cheryl said he’s redone just about everything in the house…..and now they have a BRAND NEW RHEEM high-efficiency gas furnace!

Congratulations to Rob & Gretchen Johnson of Fort Wayne!!!
Our 2008 Contest Winners
Rob and Gretchen were the winners of "Doc" Dancer's 1st annual Oldest Furnace Contest.
Their furnace was a VERY OLD gravity furnace that was converted from coal to gas. We estimated it to be as old as their home, which was built in 1890. That means their furnace was over 100 years old! Gretchen's great grandparents bought the house in 1924, and the house has been in the family ever since.
The Johnsons are excited to have a new Rheem 90+ high efficient furnace installed by "Doc" Dancer so that they can start saving money on their gas bills. They had been considering a new furnace for some time, but just hadn't gotten around to it. Rob said winning a brand new high-efficient furnace "is a blessing!"
