Troubleshooting on Your Own |
|
Before you call the “Doc” for a repair of your furnace or air conditioner, check these few things*…
- Make sure the power is on and all fuses and circuit breakers are working.
- Make sure the thermostat is turned to the appropriate feature (heat, cool, off) and set in the proper temperature range for heating or cooling.
- If your thermostat isn’t working, check to make sure the batteries are working (if applicable).
- Check the filters to see if they need to be cleaned or replaced. A plugged filter will restrict air flow, causing your unit to shut down from overheating.
*While we understand that there are many do-it-yourselfers out there, we strongly encourage you to have a licensed HVAC professional perform all installation and maintenance work on your heating and air conditioning equipment for the safety of you and your family.
